Senior Advisor – Defense Health Agency

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Establish and direct Commence's vision for effective strategies and solutions within DHA and the Military Health System.

• Provide guidance to leadership on military health strategies, encompassing directorates, programs, and challenges related to readiness and private sector care.

• Interpret DoD health policies, budget frameworks, TRICARE program modifications, and restructuring of the Military Health System into implications for health and technology portfolio strategies.

• Oversee the creation of white papers, responses to RFIs, and thought leadership initiatives.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships within the military health ecosystem, including research entities, associations, and academic collaborators.

• Advise delivery leadership regarding client expectations and program management.

• Strengthen desired outcomes through performance on current projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare.

• Senior leadership experience within DHA, the medical departments of the Services, or the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs.

• Background in a senior leadership role such as directorate or program executive leadership, flag or general officer service, senior executive service, or equivalent.

• Extensive knowledge of Military Health System programs, including TRICARE, purchased care, direct care systems, military treatment facility operations, medical readiness, force generation, program integrity, defense health budgeting, and acquisitions.

• Understanding of the interactions between DHA, the Services, and Health Affairs in setting and executing priorities.

• Preferred advanced degree in public health, health policy, health administration, economics, public administration, law, or a related field.

• Capability to sit, read, work on a computer, and view a computer screen for prolonged periods.

• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, kneel, or crouch.
