Senior Adjuster – Field Service Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee field property claims independently, including those that necessitate external investigations and catastrophe (CAT) response.

β€’ Conduct comprehensive investigations, evaluate coverage, and produce necessary documentation such as reservation of rights and coverage letters.

β€’ Recognize and actively seek opportunities to transfer risk to the relevant parties.

β€’ Keep detailed and thorough claim records, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements and proper documentation.

β€’ Appropriately identify and assign subrogation potential; create files to support effective recovery initiatives.

β€’ Ensure that all claims activities align with regulatory and company standards.

β€’ Investigate and handle suspicious claims utilizing advanced techniques and tools.

β€’ Set reserves, approve payments, and make financial decisions within designated authority.

β€’ Collaborate with internal and external parties, including legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.

β€’ Utilize advanced tools and analytics to identify trends, rectify discrepancies, and enhance claims handling efficiency.

β€’ Provide empathetic and clear communication throughout the claims process.

β€’ May act as a representative for the company in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in claims handling.

β€’ Generally requires 5–10 years of experience in adjusting.

β€’ Strong understanding of local geography, regulations, and public safety organizations.

β€’ Proficient knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and third-party legal liability concepts.

β€’ Expert in negotiation and crafting strategies to influence outcomes.

β€’ Communicates effectively and clearly in both verbal and written forms across diverse situations.

β€’ Highly organized with the capacity to manage intricate workflows and project tasks.

β€’ Makes informed decisions based on comprehensive analysis of complex issues.

β€’ Ability to collaborate with both internal and external specialists, including legal, underwriting, and other stakeholders.

β€’ Capable of quickly assessing customer concerns and anticipating inquiries.
