This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +8 more states.
• Perform intricate actuarial evaluations concerning healthcare costs, which include forecasting industry trends and calculating the Total Cost of Care (TCOC) impact.
• Take ownership of and uphold the implementation of savings and ROI methods for one or more product lines, evaluating the necessity for updates and developing parameter estimates for changes.
• Act as a subject matter expert on medical/Rx claims data, eligibility frameworks, and the fundamental factors influencing healthcare costs.
• Investigate and assess the specific factors contributing to variations in savings for certain clients or products, converting the data into actionable insights.
• Lead projects focused on report automation and dashboard creation (e.g., utilizing Looker or Tableau) to enhance insight generation and empower other internal teams to independently access key metrics.
• Write clean, efficient code and engage in team peer reviews with a meticulous approach and a strong focus on detail to ensure technical precision.
• Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of savings and ROI methodologies for the purposes of client communication, knowledge sharing among peers, and future reference.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare economics, actuarial science, or quantitative financial analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Completion of a minimum of 1 actuarial exam in pursuit of the ASA or another equivalent designation is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets. Familiarity or expertise with Python for data analysis and automation is highly preferred.
• Practical experience working with various forms of raw data, including medical/Rx claims, eligibility data, and product engagement metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complex technical or economic analyses to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of business tools such as Looker, Tableau, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
