Actuary, Model Steward

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborating with diverse teams to gain insights into enhancements for Corporate Payout, PRT, UL, and Trad AXIS models utilized in valuation, pricing, inforce management, ALM, and planning activities.

• Preparing the Corporate Payout, PRT, UL, and Trad AXIS models for scheduled production runs on a regular basis.

• Acting as the F&G specialist on the Corporate Payout, PRT, UL, and Trad AXIS models by offering technical model support and relevant training to other actuarial users within the organization.

• Promoting a robust risk management culture within the organization, which includes maintaining detailed model documentation and overseeing the processes for model change management.

• Collaborating with actuarial model users to ensure comprehension and adherence to actuarial model governance policies and change management procedures.

• Ensuring that best practices for model development and integration are adhered to throughout every stage of the actuarial model lifecycle.

• Mentoring and training junior team members.

• Serving as a subject matter expert in Actuarial concepts and Actuarial Model Governance.

• Developing and refining processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring they are repeatable and scalable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

• ASA certification is required; FSA is strongly preferred.

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency with Axis (preferred) or similar actuarial modeling software is necessary.

• Experience within the Indexed Universal Life Insurance line of business is preferred.

• Familiarity with modeling applications that compute or project US Statutory and US GAAP quantities is preferred (e.g. Valuation, Pricing, Asset Liability Management / Cash Flow Testing).
