This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Taking charge of the creation and enhancement of AXIS models and processes that support VM-22 valuation while effectively communicating results to senior management.
• Designing and implementing improvements to models, focusing on structure, assumptions, and runtime optimization.
• Leading decisions regarding methodology related to VM-22 interpretation and implementation, while driving model governance including change management, controls, and validation readiness.
• Collaborating with valuation, pricing, FP&A, and investment management teams to ensure the consistency and usability of results.
• Analyzing model outputs to identify key drivers, limitations, and opportunities for enhancing model performance and scalability, including automation, workflow, and cloud integration as applicable.
• Keeping abreast of VM-22 regulatory updates and translating them into necessary model adjustments.
• Providing mentorship and project leadership to the core VM-22 team as well as partner organizations.
• Exhibiting expertise in the Company’s risk profile, risk appetite, and risk management practices to conduct risk-based analysis and recommend suitable risk-based opportunities.
• A bachelor's degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field is preferred.
• ASA or FSA designation is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience to develop a seasoned actuarial business perspective is necessary.
• Previous modeling experience with GGY AXIS is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with individual annuities is required.
• Experience in asset modeling and Asset Liability Management (ALM) is strongly preferred.
• Experience in projection and valuation modeling (CFT, LDTI MRB, VM-20, or VM-21) is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to own and articulate reserve movements are essential.
