Senior Accounting Manager – Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Group Controller.

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes for all designated insurance entities.

• Ensure the timely and precise recording of journal entries, accruals, estimates, and adjustments related to premiums, commissions, claims, deferred acquisition costs, and other expenses.

• Supervise balance sheet reconciliations, analyze income statement fluctuations, and support related schedules.

• Guarantee the completeness and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles, and state regulatory standards.

• Develop, implement, and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.

• Enhance internal controls.

• Spearhead accounting process improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.

• Collaborate with FP&A on financial forecasts, budget versus actual discrepancies, and management reporting.

• Utilize AI and advanced technology systems to optimize insurance accounting workflows.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the insurance sector.

• Knowledge of property and casualty insurance accounting and statutory reporting.

• Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements.

• Familiarity with accounting and reporting software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance or automate financial processes.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

• Experience with Workday and Gain is a plus.
