Insurance Verification Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Validate patient insurance coverage and benefits through relevant payer portals and Experian.

• Efficiently manage new and existing patient accounts within designated time limits.

• Assess and document insurance benefits, coverage restrictions, copays, deductibles, and projected patient expenses.

• Inform patients of coverage challenges and their financial obligations.

• Arrange appointments for new patients and provide assistance with account-related inquiries.

• Engage with patients through authorized channels, including Artera.

• Refer patients to Financial Counseling for options related to financial hardship and payment plans when necessary.

• Ensure accurate documentation, encompassing insurance verification and patient interactions.

• Employ eClinicalWorks, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Experian, Artera, and additional departmental systems.

• Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other relevant privacy regulations.

• Keep up-to-date with insurance and billing standards.

• Fulfill productivity, attendance, and performance standards.

• Collaborate effectively with team members and represent Ideal Option in a professional manner.

• Carry out other assigned tasks as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service is required.

• At least 1 year of experience in medical insurance verification is essential.

• Familiarity with personal computers, Microsoft Suite, internet browsers, and/or electronic spreadsheets is necessary.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.

• Exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail are required.

• Capacity to multitask and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to learn and navigate various computer systems and applications.

• Basic understanding of medical office procedures and insurance protocols is needed.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Teams, is required.

• Awareness of chemical dependency and its impact on individuals, families, and communities; training will be provided if necessary.

• Familiarity with eClinicalWorks, Experian, and Artera is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS codes, and medical billing processes is preferred.
