Senior Accountant – Swedish Market

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring precision, quality, and timely execution.

• Prepare and assess financial reports using NetSuite.

• Conduct intercompany balance reconciliations along with monthly reconciliation activities.

• Prepare and file monthly VAT returns in accordance with Swedish regulations.

• Create annual financial statements compliant with K2 and K3 accounting frameworks.

• Prepare corporate income tax returns.

• Review and supervise the bookkeeping tasks carried out by junior team members, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance.

• Mentor and guide junior accounting team members in daily accounting operations.

• Implement and uphold control processes for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles.

• Assist external audits and tax inspections by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

• Act as the local accounting representative to Global Accounting, ensuring Swedish requirements are comprehended and accurately represented.

• Actively participate in the enhancement of robust, scalable, and well-regulated finance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a senior accounting position, preferably within an international, complex, or rapidly expanding organization.

• In-depth knowledge of Swedish accounting standards, K2/K3, VAT, and statutory reporting obligations.

• Experience in preparing annual reports and corporate income tax returns.

• Practical experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.

• Experience in reviewing accounting work and mentoring junior colleagues.

• Capability to operate both operationally and strategically — ranging from detailed reconciliations to advising on accounting implications.

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Strong communication skills and confidence in collaborating with both local management and global finance teams.

• Proactive, organized, and solution-focused mindset.

• Proficiency in both Swedish and English.
