• Prepare comprehensive Financial Statements (FS) and assist in the month-end closing procedures.
• Guarantee the precise and timely generation of monthly financial reports and accompanying schedules.
• Provide variance analysis in relation to departmental budgets and highlight significant financial trends.
• Review Profit & Loss accounts to confirm appropriate coding and allocations across various departments.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Oversee reconciliation processes associated with deferred revenue and unbilled Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Ensure precise revenue recognition that aligns with SaaS subscription and usage-based billing models.
• Assist with intricate accounting treatments pertinent to SaaS financial operations.
• Manage equity accounting processes, including stock-based compensation and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) accounting.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, which includes additions, disposals, amortization, and depreciation.
• Conduct research on sales tax and economic nexus across U.S. states and international jurisdictions.
• Prepare and sustain accurate sales tax working papers and supporting documentation.
• Assist with year-end closing and external audit processes.
• Contribute to finance team initiatives and enhancements in operations.
• Identify process inefficiencies and proactively suggest scalable solutions.
• Support workflow optimization efforts as the company expands.
• Independently investigate and resolve accounting issues and reconciliation discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership and department heads on budget assessments and reporting analysis.
• Coordinate with external partners, including Employer of Record (EOR) representatives, international tax advisors, and external auditors.
• Clearly communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• CPA designation is mandatory.
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience required.
• Strong background in preparing full-cycle Financial Statements.
• Previous experience in SaaS companies or subscription-based business models is highly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of month-end closing processes and financial reconciliations.
• Experience with deferred revenue, accruals, and SaaS revenue recognition is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for deliverables.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is preferred.
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with modern finance tools such as Wise, Float, Ramp, Plooto, and other SaaS finance platforms.
• Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting automation tools is a plus.
