Senior Accountant, Revenue Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist with month-end revenue accounting closing activities, which includes preparing revenue journal entries, reconciling revenue accounts, investigating discrepancies, and facilitating reporting with fluctuation analysis and schedules.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue reporting in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606.

• Implement ASC 606 guidance for standard and moderately complex customer arrangements.

• Document conclusions regarding revenue recognition and maintain the requisite supporting documentation.

• Aid in the updates and improvements of revenue accounting policies, controls, and procedures.

• Collaborate with Sales, Deal Desk, and Legal to review customer contracts and determine the impacts on revenue recognition.

• Escalate non-standard contract terms along with recommended accounting treatments.

• Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the revenue closing process.

• Support system upgrades and process standardization throughout the quote-to-cash cycle.

• Document essential controls and procedures.

• Work together with Billing Operations, RevOps, and FP&A on revenue-related processes.

• Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting is essential.

• At least 2 years of experience with SaaS and/or professional services revenue models is necessary.

• Public accounting experience is preferred.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with quote-to-cash processes and revenue systems such as NetSuite; knowledge of Salesforce is an advantage.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills are required.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams are essential.

• A process-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement is necessary.
