Senior Accountant – Process & Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Analyze bottlenecks, recurring errors, and gather stakeholder feedback to pinpoint inefficiencies and opportunities for enhancing accounting processes and technology.

• Explore improvement opportunities, determine root causes, and provide support for practical, scalable solutions.

• Collaborate with accounting and other business units to implement effective solutions and best practices.

• Utilize technology, maximize systems, and develop automation wherever feasible.

• Work together on process-related initiatives and promote communication across departments.

• Direct and support project management efforts, monitoring personnel, dependencies, deliverables, timelines, and measurable efficiency improvements.

• Communicate progress and escalate issues to management as necessary.

• Keep documentation updated for new or modified processes.

• Lead or assist with complex technical special projects and ad hoc departmental requirements.

• Create and implement automated reconciliations in Blackline.

• Fulfill necessary compliance training and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Accounting is required; a focus on Technology is preferred.

• A minimum of 6 years of accounting experience is necessary.

• At least 2 years of experience in public accounting is required.

• A Master's Degree or postgraduate equivalent in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

• A CPA license is preferred.

• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to quickly and effectively master new technology.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting processes, internal controls over financial reporting, and risk identification and mitigation.

• Practical problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to multitask, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Experience with Alteryx and Blackline auto-matching systems is preferred.
