This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee financial transactions, reconciliations, and ensure regulatory compliance for Medicare Part D pharmacy accounting.
• Uphold accounting records and reconciliations with appropriate documentation in line with company policies, GAAP, and the chart of accounts.
• Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger, submitting reconciled accounts for managerial review.
• Reconcile pharmacy claims data with PBM invoices, resolving billing discrepancies.
• Aid in the month-end close process for Medicare Part D, encompassing claims, rebates, DIR fees, discount programs, plan-to-plan payments, and CMS settlement estimates.
• Execute monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and document follow-up actions.
• Reconcile Medicare Part D risk-sharing arrangements using CMS reports along with internal financial records.
• Prepare and submit necessary Medicare Part D reports to CMS.
• Assist with quarterly and annual regulatory financial filings.
• Support external audits and examinations of regulatory financial conditions.
• Monitor changes in the Medicare Part D program and update accounting systems and processes accordingly.
• Review and refine accounting policies and procedures, recommending process enhancements.
• Collaborate with departments including Pharmacy, Actuary, IT, Data & Analytics, and Operations.
• Engage in special projects, ad hoc analyses, automation, and improvements in accounting processes.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related sector.
• 2+ years of experience specifically in Medicare Part D, PBM, or managed care accounting.
• CPA designation is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Oracle Financials or comparable accounting ERP systems.
• Proficient in analyzing large, complex financial datasets to identify variances or discrepancies.
• Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret intricate financial and operational data.
• Expertise in reconciliation methods, variance investigation, and root-cause analysis.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, general ledger structures, and accounting ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Medicare Part D regulations, reporting obligations, and CMS payment methodologies.
• Ability to write and interpret SQL and Access queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and Power Query.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities and timelines.
• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
