This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the order-to-cash lifecycle, managing automated invoicing, reviewing specialized invoicing, and handling accounts receivable, the collections process, and days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Direct the complete month-end and year-end closing processes, which include journal entries, accruals, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations with supporting schedules, and documentation that is audit-ready.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring precise transaction classification and coding.
• Prepare and analyze monthly profit and loss statements by department, highlighting variances and trends for Finance leadership's attention.
• Lead our offshore accounting team with the aim of transitioning all accounting operations in-house, managing the end-to-end handoff.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership on forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and ad hoc analyses.
• Develop and implement AI-driven automation to minimize manual tasks and enhance accuracy as the business expands.
• Manage accounts payable and vendor bill payments in Ramp, utilizing its native AI to ensure expenses are correctly coded to the appropriate department and reconciled promptly.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to create and document accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures, ensuring records remain audit-ready and compliant with GAAP.
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a professional services, agency, or rapidly growing startup environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in order-to-cash or billing roles, encompassing invoicing, accounts receivable, and DSO management at scale.
• Proven experience in managing both onshore and offshore teams across multiple workstreams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including general ledger coding, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, ready to engage from day one.
• Strong Excel capabilities; able to create reconciliations, trackers, and models independently.
• Practical experience using AI tools to automate accounting or billing tasks; not only familiar with the technology but actively applying it.
• Experience with Ramp or a comparable spend-management platform.
• Effective communicator who collaborates cross-functionally with Account Management, Operations, and clients regarding billing issues, often in a remote capacity.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines without oversight.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification or progress toward CPA is advantageous.
