
Senior Accountant – Equity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Prepare and evaluate journal entries as well as account reconciliations.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities for designated areas.
• Ensure the general ledger is accurate and complete.
• Analyze account variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Develop supporting schedules for financial reporting.
• Assist with annual audits and adhere to other compliance necessities.
• Identify potential enhancements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Prepare accounting entries pertaining to stock-based compensation in accordance with ASC 718.
• Manage equity transactions, including stock options, RSUs, and ESPP.
• Create equity roll-forward schedules and accompanying documentation.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures related to equity compensation.
• Provide support to external valuation specialists and auditors during reporting periods.
• Aid in the administration of the company’s equity plans and equity management platform.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Payroll, and external service providers.
• Maintain records of equity awards and employee transactions.
• Address employee inquiries regarding equity.
• Participate in special projects, acquisitions, and improvements in systems/processes.
• Conduct research on technical accounting issues as necessary.
• Support cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, Payroll, HR, and Legal.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Extensive experience with general ledger accounting.
• Proficient in month-end closing procedures.
• Strong background in account reconciliations.
• Significant experience with financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting for stock-based compensation and equity transactions.
• Strong grasp of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA is preferred.
• Experience in public accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of IFRS is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with equity administration platforms like Morgan Stanley ETRADE, or similar, is preferred.
• Experience in either a publicly traded or private equity-backed company is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is preferred.
