
Senior Accountant – CapEx

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Review and process a substantial volume of CapEx and Construction-in-Progress (CIP) invoices.
• Utilize accounting judgment to determine the appropriate treatment of costs as either capitalization or operating expenses.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses pertaining to CapEx activities.
• Provide support during the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and perform financial analyses.
• Oversee NetSuite accounting functions across various subsidiaries.
• Employ advanced Excel functionalities to analyze extensive datasets and generate reporting schedules.
• Collaborate with operational and finance teams on project accounting and job costing initiatives.
• Assist in audit processes and ensure adherence to public company controls and reporting standards.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing accounting processes and improving efficiencies.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong expertise in CapEx accounting and management of fixed assets.
• Proven experience in reviewing high-volume CapEx and CIP invoices.
• Practical experience with NetSuite.
• Familiarity with month-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience working in a large public company environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Public accounting experience is desirable.
• Preferred experience in job costing or project accounting.
• Experience supporting extensive infrastructure or capital-intensive projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with the data center industry is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
