Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete accounting cycle for roofing and construction operations, encompassing reconciliations, month-end closure, and financial reporting.

• Implement job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) methodologies to monitor project profitability across various ongoing jobs.

• Facilitate percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing for residential, commercial, and federal projects.

• Exercise sound financial judgment while ensuring precision and adherence to compliance standards.

• Integrate and enhance external applications with QuickBooks Online.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, handle expense management, oversee subcontractor payments, and maintain vendor/client relationships.

• Assist in meeting compliance requirements for federally funded projects, including certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation.

• Utilize QuickBooks Online, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Zoom, and Google Drive on a daily basis.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and AI applications that can enhance accounting efficiency.

• Provide financial insights that assist in leadership decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of accounting experience with companies based in the U.S.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• Demonstrated success in managing external stakeholders.

• In-depth knowledge of construction or job-cost accounting practices.

• Capability to juggle multiple active projects and adapt to changing priorities.

• Experience in making informed financial decisions within dynamic, growing businesses.

• Familiarity with accounting for federal or government-funded projects is a plus, but not mandatory.

• Essential proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Drive.

• Experience with the integration of external applications with QuickBooks Online.

• Knowledge of Bill.com, ClickUp, Gusto, and Ramp is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with construction-specific job costing or project management software like JobNimbus or AccuLynx is an added advantage.

• Understanding of AI use cases in accounting is beneficial.

• Full professional fluency in English, both written and verbal.

• Ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across digital platforms.

• Proactive, solutions-oriented self-starter with excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• High sense of ownership, receptiveness to feedback, and adaptability.

• Integrity, curiosity, and a strong focus on action.

• Must currently reside in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.
