• Oversee the month-end closing process.
• Generate monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
• Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations using Xero.
• Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including aged reports.
• Review supplier statements and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Submit and track supplier invoices for approval according to negotiated rates.
• Process weekly payroll and superannuation submissions in Xero.
• Prepare and file IAS (monthly), BAS (quarterly), PAYG, and Super obligations.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and ATO regulations.
• Compile monthly management reports and Board reporting packs.
• Finalize actuals with explanations for variances.
• Develop rolling forecasts and provide analyses of best and worst-case scenarios.
• Coordinate forecast inputs with operational teams.
• Organize project cost tracking meetings and conduct margin analysis.
• Monitor project profitability and manage commercial claims.
• Create aged payables reports and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
• Deliver cash flow forecasts and insights on working capital.
• Identify financial risks and propose corrective measures.
• Opportunity to establish and lead an overseas accounting team, develop structured finance processes, and promote continuous improvement and automation within the finance function.
• At least 5+ years of experience in senior accounting positions.
• CA or CPA qualification (Essential).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (Essential).
• Extensive experience with Xero (Essential).
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax and accounting regulations.
• Experience in manufacturing or project-based sectors is preferred.
• Excellent analytical abilities, a commercial mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness to work from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Melbourne time).
• Flexibility for potential future visits to overseas offices in Melbourne.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
