Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Execute a range of accounting tasks, including supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies.

• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Complete various accounting projects as requested by management.

• Accurately and promptly record transactional activities in the general ledger.

• Assess and implement internal controls.

• Deliver precise routine and ad-hoc financial reports.

• Manage resources and ensure the efficiency of analytical and control operations.

• Oversee projects in alignment with established plans.

• Engage in the implementation of corporate and departmental systems and procedures.

• Ensure that accounting records and practices comply with GAAP, MGM Resorts International accounting policies, and uniform standards across business units.

• Supervise resource distribution and performance to fulfill internal customer expectations and service-level agreements.

• Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and international regulations, including SOX, gaming laws, IRS requirements, anti-money laundering statutes, and internal control standards.

• Lead and convey corporate strategies that provide high-quality, cost-effective support services.

• Foster teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of relevant experience in auditing or accounting.

• Proven experience interacting with all management levels, including executives, and collaborating with key business stakeholders (preferred).

• Experience in generating financial reports and leveraging financial data for making recommendations and decisions (preferred).

• Background in preparing and reviewing reconciliations of general ledger accounts (preferred).

• Experience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including P&L analysis (preferred).

• Over 2 years of experience in the gaming industry (preferred).

• Familiarity with MGM Resorts International gaming and financial systems, such as Tandem, CMS, MachineAccounting, CBS, Bravo Poker, XpertX, Mlife, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance, Oracle ERP Cloud, and Oracle EPM Cloud (preferred).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (preferred).

• Bilingual in English, with English as either the primary or secondary language (preferred).

• Previous experience in a comparable corporate environment (preferred).

• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Knowledge of internal controls, SOX, gaming regulations, IRS standards, anti-money laundering laws, and financial reporting practices.
