Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete accounts payable process, which includes vendor onboarding, invoice coding, payment processing, and managing vendor relationships.

• Oversee accounts receivable tasks, such as invoicing, cash application, collections follow-up, and conducting aging analysis.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for cash, prepaids, accruals, and merchant/payment processor accounts.

• Prepare and record journal entries for both monthly and quarterly closing activities.

• Maintain the general ledger along with supporting schedules, ensuring all entries are accurate, documented, and compliant with GAAP.

• Collaborate with the Controller on closing timelines, flux analysis, and requests for audits or reviews.

• Identify and enhance manual processes, focusing on automation and AI opportunities within accounting workflows.

• Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to address billing and payment inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of advancing accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume transactional setting.

• Strong comprehension of GAAP and the capability to apply it to real-world transactions.

• Outstanding attention to detail.

• Ability to articulate accounting concepts clearly to colleagues without a finance background.

• Practical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Capability to work autonomously in a fully remote setup.

• Preference for candidates situated in the Eastern Time Zone; all strong candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Must reside in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, or Washington.

• Experience with AI or automation tools to enhance accounting processes.

• Background in SaaS or subscription-based businesses, particularly with deferred revenue and payment processor reconciliations.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Ramp, and Stripe Billing.

• CPA designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.
