This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take responsibility for weekly accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) aging assessments, manage dunning processes and vendor payment schedules, and uphold cash controls.
• Provide weekly cash reports and evaluate banking fees as well as the placement of idle cash.
• Oversee the accuracy and timely filing of federal, state, sales tax, and international tax obligations.
• Manage equity administration tasks, including 409A schedules, grant bookings, cap table reconciliations, and stock compensation expenses.
• Ensure precise and timely payroll processing across payroll/PEO providers while supporting annual compensation evaluations.
• Lead the monthly close process, which encompasses revenue recognition, expense closures, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and maintain an ongoing multi-year financial forecast.
• Develop executive-level financial reports and facilitate budget-versus-actual discussions.
• Oversee the accounting for deferred revenue and stock compensation.
• Collaborate with department heads on budget-versus-actual reviews and identify opportunities for tax optimization.
• Assist Revenue Operations with commission calculations, customer credits, and resolving billing disputes.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of the Contracted Junior Accountant.
• Innovate the accounting infrastructure, processes, controls, automation, budgeting, sales tax strategies, and expense forecasting.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with complete ownership of month-end closing processes.
• Proficient in multi-state and/or international tax compliance.
• Experience with equity administration platforms like Carta and knowledge of stock compensation accounting (ASC 718).
• Background in reviewing or managing junior team members, offshore accountants, or outsourced providers.
• Strong skills in Excel and financial modeling, including forecasts and executive-level reporting.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or a comparable general ledger system.
• Experience with modern fintech tools such as Brex and payroll/PEO systems is advantageous.
• Proven track record of enhancing or modernizing accounting processes and systems.
• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• CPA designation or active CPA candidacy is highly preferred.
• Must be eligible for employment in the United States; the employer participates in E-Verify.
