Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the month-end general ledger closure, encompassing revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, management of deferred revenue schedules, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets.

• Oversee accounts receivable and collection processes for both U.S. and international clients, including high-touch enterprise billing and efforts to minimize days sales outstanding (DSO).

• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions among U.S., French, and UK entities, while collaborating with international accounting partners.

• Manage the collection and remittance of sales tax through Avalara.

• Assist in audit preparations and actively participate in the forthcoming audit process.

• Handle customer invoicing and collections in Maxio, including complex contract situations such as proration, upgrades, and transitions from self-service to sales-led models.

• Identify and rectify process deficiencies to achieve faster closes, cleaner data, and enhanced automation.

• Collaborate across functions with Sales (RevOps, DealDesk), Legal, and People Ops to ensure that accounting remains aligned with business developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS setting or public accounting.

• Practical experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition in a SaaS context.

• Solid foundation in general ledger accounting, including intercompany transactions, multi-entity closures, and reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience managing the complete accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, collections, and DSO enhancement.

• Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to demonstrate skills such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and reconciliation builds in real-time.

• A self-starter attitude: you proactively seek solutions, manage your own priorities without needing constant supervision.

• Capacity to excel in a remote-first environment, maintaining consistent availability, proactive communication, and accountability without the need for an office.

• CPA or CPA-track designation is preferred.
