Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete accounting process and client relationships for various nonprofit and for-profit entities independently.

• Direct the month-end closing activities within 5–7 business days, ensuring an error rate of less than 1–2% in financial reports and no significant audit findings.

• Generate precise journal entries, conduct account reconciliations with no unresolved discrepancies, and prepare monthly financial statements.

• Provide assistance with budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, regulatory compliance, and enhancing internal controls.

• Act as a reliable advisor by fostering strong client relationships, responding to inquiries within 24 hours, and consistently adhering to deadlines to guarantee high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

• Review the work of Staff Accountants, offering guidance and mentorship while collaborating effectively across teams to disseminate knowledge and best practices.

• Continuously seek and implement process improvements to shorten the month-end closing timeline and boost operational efficiency across client engagements.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 4–6 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.

• Experience in public accounting is strongly preferred.

• CPA candidate or progress towards CPA certification is desirable.

• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with contemporary accounting software and financial management systems.

• Professional demeanor suitable for executive-level interactions.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills for client interactions.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Proactive, deadline-oriented, and highly responsible.

• Dedicated to delivering accurate, error-free work.

• Continuously looks for opportunities to enhance workflows, efficiency, and client service.
