Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute expedited month-end closing processes for designated Partner Firms, which includes journal entries, accruals, and relevant workpapers.

• Take ownership of trial balances and provide variance analysis for the assigned firms.

• Monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts in FloQast and resolve any exceptions.

• Prepare audit PBCs and ensure maintenance of audit-ready documentation.

• Assist with the accounting integration of newly acquired Partner Firms and provide training for staff at new firms.

• Act as a responsive liaison for Partner Firms.

• Guide offshore accounting team members through instructions, conducting reviews and providing feedback.

• Collaborate with Ascend Partner Services and escalate any cross-functional issues.

• Identify, document, and communicate process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; CPA or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.

• Over 3 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a multi-entity setting, with direct responsibility for month-end closing.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, with familiarity with ASC 606 and ASC 842 preferred.

• Proficient with close management software (FloQast is highly preferred) and a contemporary ERP; advanced skills in Excel.

• Experience in supporting external audits and working in a private equity-backed, acquisitive, or rapidly growing environment is advantageous.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to achieving accuracy on the first attempt.

• Proactive communicator who brings issues and successes to light early, with the capacity to forge strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

• Strong organizational, critical thinking, and prioritization abilities, capable of managing multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously.
