Tax Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Oversee registrations, renewals, payments, and recordkeeping for business licenses for both new and existing locations.

• Investigate licensing requirements specific to jurisdictions and liaise with government bodies.

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary documentation and address licensing challenges.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of indirect tax returns.

• Keep compliance calendars updated and track filing deadlines, renewal dates, and payment responsibilities.

• Ensure accurate electronic records and supporting documents are maintained for business licenses and indirect tax activities.

• Carry out tax administration tasks, including document processing, maintenance of filing systems, and compliance assistance.

• Detect opportunities to enhance accuracy, organization, and efficiency.

• Work closely with the Senior Manager of Indirect Tax, internal departments, field teams, and external government entities.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent education and experience.

• Preferably experienced in multi-state tax compliance, business licensing, accounting, or regulatory compliance.

• Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively.

• Capable of collaborating across various functions, coordinating compliance efforts, and efficiently resolving tax and licensing issues.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

• Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to changing tax and licensing requirements.
