This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee comprehensive accounting for the Galleon program, acting as the key accounting resource for deployed data center accounting across both the balance sheet and income statement.
• Manage accounting throughout the complete Galleon lifecycle, including procurement, inventory, capital improvement projects (CIP), capitalization, deployment, redeployment, retirement, and disposal.
• Function as the primary administrator for the Company’s fixed asset management system (NetAsset), ensuring precise asset records and facilitating process improvements.
• Assess and document the appropriate accounting treatment for Galleon assets, including inventory, CIP, and fixed asset classification decisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain accurate subledgers for fixed assets and inventory; ensure timely monthly reconciliations with the general ledger.
• Manage CIP schedules and guarantee timely capitalization upon deployment; develop and sustain depreciation methodologies and useful life assumptions across the Galleon fleet.
• Capitalize freight, installation, deployment, and other directly attributable costs; collaborate with operations to ensure precise cost burden calculations.
• Support debt-financed Galleon acquisitions by coordinating debt facility drawdowns and related accounting treatments.
• Keep accounting records for Galleon-related insurance policies, including premium payments, coverage periods, prepaid insurance balances, and claims activity.
• Monitor Galleon movements, including deployments, redeployments, disposals, and retirements, ensuring the fixed asset subledger accurately reflects the current fleet status.
• Conduct and assist with physical inventory and fixed asset counts; resolve discrepancies and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for designated areas, ensuring all entries are posted accurately and punctually.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
• Manage prepaid expense accounting, including tracking, amortization, and reconciliation across various vendors and cost categories.
• Track cost of sales (COS) for Galleon-related revenue transactions, ensuring proper matching between costs and recognized revenue.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial packages and variance analyses for Finance leadership.
• Create audit-ready workpapers and support external audits, tax reviews, and due diligence requests.
• Collaborate with FP&A on capex forecasting, depreciation forecasting, and fleet-level cost analyses.
• Serve as a finance partner to Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain on Galleon-related transactions, providing accounting guidance and ensuring proper documentation.
• Work with Revenue Accounting and Finance leadership on accounting considerations associated with Galleon deployments and customer arrangements.
• Design and uphold internal controls over asset accounting, inventory accounting, and related business processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation and assist in scaling accounting processes, ERP workflows, and reporting capabilities.
• Support technical accounting research, policy development, and special projects as the company expands.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an active CPA license is mandatory.
• 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm), corporate accounting, or a mix of both. Experience in high-growth or startup environments is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including the ability to analyze large datasets, create scalable reconciliations, and develop efficient reporting schedules. Familiarity with Power Query or similar automation tools is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, specifically ASC 330 (Inventory), ASC 360 (Fixed Assets), CIP, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
• Experience in managing fixed asset programs, inventory accounting, or capital-intensive operations.
• Proven success in improving accounting processes, implementing controls, or supporting system enhancements.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership.
