This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supports the Month-End Close procedure across various entities. Engages in daily tasks within the accounting department. Prepares and/or reviews necessary journal entries and accruals.
• Guarantees the completeness and accuracy of all designated accounts, databases, and files, including the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement accounts.
• Collaborates with the accounting team and other internal departments to design, document, implement, and monitor processes that establish controls, ownership, and accountability related to inventory management.
• Works closely with the accounts payable department, purchasing department, and inventory management stakeholders regarding receiving issues and the implementation of systems affecting inventory processing.
• Conducts ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned. Responds promptly to inquiries from both external and internal customers.
• Partners with the regional accounting team, parent company accounting group, external auditors, and tax accountants during quarter and year-end close to support reporting and regulatory requirements, providing financial commentary and supporting schedules as necessary.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business or accounting. CPA or CPA Candidate preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting and corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Preferred experience in Manufacturing and/or Retail.
• Intermediate understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience or exposure to all facets of accounting, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash/revenue, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, inventory valuation, and intercompany eliminations. Knowledge of inventory manufacturing processes, retail sales processes, sales and use tax, and public company audit compliance is essential.
• Ability to provide support and training to accounting colleagues and other team leaders.
• Experience in a highly computerized environment, processing financial transactions using an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and/or accounting software, with Epicor experience being preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; proficient in the overall Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• A self-starter who emphasizes accuracy, completeness, and ownership of work products, with the capability to prioritize and complete tasks under competing deadlines.
• Demonstrates professional written and verbal communication skills across multiple levels and departments.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and trustworthy.
• Background check required.
