Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the monthly closing and financial reporting procedures, encompassing routine and non-routine journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and communication with stakeholders.

• Assist with lease, fixed asset, software capitalization, and other operating expense accounting to ensure accurate GAAP reporting and compliance with SOX.

• Conduct variance and fluctuation analysis of financial statements, identifying anomalies and documenting critical drivers.

• Act as a subject matter expert on accounting policies, systems, and processes.

• Facilitate support for new products, features, and system changes through thorough testing and validation.

• Propel process enhancements, standardization, automation, and ERP optimization to achieve SLA/KPI targets.

• Preserve documentation for accounting systems, workflows, and essential controls.

• Aid in transitions, knowledge transfer, and cross-training initiatives.

• Convey accounting requirements and frameworks to partner teams.

• Collaborate with Technical Accounting on research, accounting memos, and documentation of business processes.

• Utilize Alteryx, SQL, and AI-enabled workflows to assess trends, risks, and opportunities.

• Participate in ad hoc projects, special analyses, and strategic finance initiatives.

• Relay results and updates to leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Over 5 years of pertinent experience, preferably including public accounting or experience within a high-growth tech sector.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition standards.

• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formula logic.

• Experience with Oracle or another large ERP system is preferred.

• SQL knowledge is preferred.

• CPA certification is highly advantageous.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in analyzing high-volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business setting.

• Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment.

• Capability to oversee projects from inception to completion, including timelines, milestones, stakeholder updates, and delivery in line with specifications.

• Proficient in defining and implementing internal or external controls or best practices.

• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• A strong desire for continuous improvement and an upbeat, can-do attitude.
