
Senior Account Manager – Advanced Synthesis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee a portfolio of key customer accounts, enhancing customer satisfaction, driving revenue growth, and fostering long-term business relationships.
• Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with customer stakeholders while acting as the main commercial contact for designated accounts.
• Identify and explore opportunities to broaden business within current accounts by aligning client needs with Lonza's Advanced Synthesis offerings.
• Lead commercial discussions pertaining to proposals, pricing, contracts, and business opportunities in collaboration with internal teams.
• Create, uphold, and implement account plans that ensure alignment with customer goals, commercial priorities, and agreed-upon growth strategies.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, Technical Teams, and Business Development to facilitate successful project execution and effective customer communications.
• Act as the customer’s advocate internally, ensuring issue resolution, managing escalations, and fulfilling commitments.
• Keep accurate account plans, opportunities, forecasts, and customer data within Salesforce and other business systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, or specialty chemical sectors, including roles in commercial, account management, business development, or customer-facing positions.
• Experience in supporting small molecule drug substances, amorphous solid dispersions, bioconjugation, or contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services.
• Proven track record in managing customer relationships, expanding accounts, and facilitating complex commercial opportunities.
• Familiarity with proposal development, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and commercial deal structures.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and commercialization processes.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to effectively engage customers and internal teams.
• Experience in a cross-functional setting and managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus.
• Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness and capability to travel up to 40% to customer locations, industry events, and Lonza offices.
