Senior Account Director – Business Development, Biotech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement strategic sales initiatives and account strategies for designated global key accounts.

• Establish and nurture enduring relationships with senior leaders in client organizations across Procurement, R&D, vendor management, and strategic outsourcing.

• Propel revenue growth, enhance market presence, increase share-of-wallet, identify new business prospects, and advance portfolio development within biotech Phase II–III key accounts.

• Evaluate client satisfaction and suggest enhancements.

• Create strategies for targeted global accounts.

• Oversee the RFP/proposal process, provide responses, and assist in contract negotiations.

• Manage RFI strategy from initiation to conclusion, encompassing client meetings, stakeholder alignment, presentation materials, and response quality.

• Convert RFI strategy into impactful RFP responses to secure preferred-provider negotiations.

• Collaborate with Business and Project Management teams to promote business initiatives and implement changes to acquire and maintain key accounts.

• Work alongside internal account partners and subject-matter experts to enhance client experience, penetrate new market segments, and develop new services and product extensions.

• Compile and deliver regular updates on business development efforts and outcomes to the VP of GMP, Business Development.

• Assist pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical-device clients in accelerating the delivery of transformative therapies.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in clinical business development and key account management within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical-device sectors.

• Experience in global sales with a varied account portfolio.

• Strong comprehension of the drug development process through commercialization and typical customer requirements.

• Knowledge of regulatory bodies, compliance standards, and changes in regulations.

• Proven success in a similar position with quantifiable results.

• Strong skills in customer relationship management and conflict resolution.

• Commercial sales competencies, including lead generation, capability presentations, sales process management, and deal closure.

• Business acumen and critical thinking skills to translate strategies into profitability and growth.

• Outstanding organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple responsibilities.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive-level presentation skills.

• Demonstrated global and cultural sensitivity.

• Proficiency in CRM systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted work environment.

• Willingness and flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally.
