Security Training Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, development, revision, and implementation of security training curricula, lesson plans, instructor guides, and associated materials.

• Schedule and coordinate training sessions across various locations and time zones, including tracking attendance and monitoring completion.

• Maintain annual training calendars while coordinating instructors, facilities, ranges, equipment, and logistics.

• Deliver both in-person and remote training in firearms proficiency, defensive tactics, verbal de-escalation, and report writing.

• Support the certification and recertification processes.

• Conduct practical exercises, scenario-based training, tabletop exercises, and performance evaluations.

• Maintain centralized training documentation, including licenses, certifications, schedules, and reports.

• Oversee records for more than 110 security and weapons licenses, 26 state licenses, certifications, schedules, and monthly reports.

• Develop and enforce document templates, style guides, and version control protocols.

• Ensure training records are prepared for audits and comply with client, regulatory, and internal standards.

• Arrange travel and monitor training expenditures and resource utilization within approved budgets.

• Evaluate training effectiveness through site audits and conduct compliance audits.

• Serve as a liaison between program management and site security teams.

• Identify training gaps and propose corrective measures.

• Provide on-site assistance during new site mobilizations, contract transitions, and regional training events.

• Travel up to 40% to ensure continuity and operational support across client locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in security operations, law enforcement, military, or related fields.

• Certified firearms, defensive tactics, and/or de-escalation instructor, such as POST, NRA Law Enforcement, or PPCT.

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-site training programs and coordinating schedules across different time zones.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and training record management systems.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in preparing lesson plans, reports, SOPs, and training documentation.

• Strong organizational capabilities.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 40% and work flexible hours as necessary.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with private security contracts, government, and military standards is preferred.

• Experience with LMS and online training platforms is preferred.

• Knowledge of state licensing requirements for armed security personnel across various jurisdictions is preferred.

• Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to stand, sit, and move for extended periods; occasional exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
