This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a pivotal technical security collaborator across AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development groups.

• Design secure, compliant solutions by engaging early, guiding design choices, and ensuring team alignment.

• Identify security requirements through business and technical evaluations, standards research, vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and architecture reviews.

• Formulate security requirements and strategies while overseeing project implementation.

• Collaborate with information security and information technology teams to integrate and validate technology modifications.

• Establish security requirements for information technologies and solutions.

• Work with technical architects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture processes and standards.

• Confirm that information security controls align with regulatory and contractual obligations.

• Investigate emerging technologies and assess technical trends and requirements.

• Provide subject matter expertise and gather artifacts for both internal and external compliance initiatives.

• Cultivate strategic relationships and organizational partnerships.

• Offer security architecture and technical security advice to solution owners across OCTO, AI, Solution Architecture, and Business Development teams.

• Serve as a technical ISO stakeholder in Enterprise Risk and Assurance activities.

• Convert security requirements, standards, and controls into practical guidance.

• Identify solution-level security risks and outline mitigating controls in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Communicate initiatives, designs, and security or compliance considerations to ISO leadership.

• Document architectural decisions, risks, and accepted exceptions for audit and assurance purposes.

• Recognize recurring architectural risk patterns and escalate systemic issues for remediation planning.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable combination of education, training, or work experience.

• Professional security certification such as CISSP or CCSP is preferred.

• At least seven years of experience in information technology.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Architecture and/or Security Engineering.

• Experience working with the US Federal government, either as a current or former federal employee or contractor in security architecture or engineering.

• Strong background in security architecture principles, patterns, and risk-based design methodologies.

• Proficiency in creating and interpreting reference architectures.

• Understanding of how business goals, contracts, and regulatory requirements impact security architecture decisions.

• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls.

• Familiarity with NIST 800-171 for Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations.

• Awareness of federal compliance frameworks and regulatory standards.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of enterprise-level internal controls and security standards.

• Familiarity with compliance and assurance requirements in regulated environments.

• Experience with cloud security in AWS and/or Azure environments.

• Ability to articulate complex security concepts clearly to varied audiences.

• US Citizenship is required.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% based on business needs.

• Preferred: Experience in drafting contract language for government proposals.

• Preferred: Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

• Preferred: Knowledge of additional NIST secure system standards.
