
Security Officer β Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
β’ Oversee and patrol designated buildings, grounds, and areas through visual or electronic means.
β’ Regulate access to the property, permitting entry solely to individuals who are properly authorized.
β’ Conduct inspections of premises, including doors, windows, and gates, to confirm their security.
β’ Record and report incidents such as property damage, safety risks, or unusual events.
β’ Caution violators regarding rule breaches and, if necessary, escort them off the property.
β’ Inform on-site personnel when visitors or service providers arrive.
β’ Assist in emergency or disaster responses to ensure the safety of life, property, and the community.
β’ Verify the proper functioning of heating, lighting, sprinklers, ventilation, and fire safety systems.
β’ Provide transportation services utilizing various vehicles, including passenger cars and vans.
β’ Administer emergency medical assistance, including CPR, AED application, and safe patient transport.
β’ Promptly report any safety or sanitation issues to a supervisor.
β’ Carry out other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the department and the community.
β’ High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
β’ A valid driverβs license with a satisfactory driving record for the past three (3) years, in accordance with NMS vehicle insurance policy.
β’ Ability to obtain an Alaska Guard License (application fee of $97.00, to be paid by the applicant) before employment.
β’ Fundamental computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract-specific software.
β’ Must successfully complete all pre-employment contract requirements, which may include: Hair follicle drug test, Physical and fit-for-duty assessment, Hearing test.
β’ Capability to work respectfully and effectively within a multicultural environment, with an appreciation for Alaska Native cultures and rural community life.
β’ Ability to make sound decisions in real-time with minimal supervision.
β’ Capacity to stand and remain on your feet for 12 hours per shift, consistent with the scheduled rotation.
β’ Contract mandates the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
