Security Officer – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Oversee and patrol designated buildings, grounds, and areas through visual or electronic means.

• Regulate access to the property, permitting entry solely to individuals who are properly authorized.

• Conduct inspections of premises, including doors, windows, and gates, to confirm their security.

• Record and report incidents such as property damage, safety risks, or unusual events.

• Caution violators regarding rule breaches and, if necessary, escort them off the property.

• Inform on-site personnel when visitors or service providers arrive.

• Assist in emergency or disaster responses to ensure the safety of life, property, and the community.

• Verify the proper functioning of heating, lighting, sprinklers, ventilation, and fire safety systems.

• Provide transportation services utilizing various vehicles, including passenger cars and vans.

• Administer emergency medical assistance, including CPR, AED application, and safe patient transport.

• Promptly report any safety or sanitation issues to a supervisor.

• Carry out other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the department and the community.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record for the past three (3) years, in accordance with NMS vehicle insurance policy.

• Ability to obtain an Alaska Guard License (application fee of $97.00, to be paid by the applicant) before employment.

• Fundamental computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract-specific software.

• Must successfully complete all pre-employment contract requirements, which may include: Hair follicle drug test, Physical and fit-for-duty assessment, Hearing test.

• Capability to work respectfully and effectively within a multicultural environment, with an appreciation for Alaska Native cultures and rural community life.

• Ability to make sound decisions in real-time with minimal supervision.

• Capacity to stand and remain on your feet for 12 hours per shift, consistent with the scheduled rotation.

• Contract mandates the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

• Must comply with all safety guidelines and regulations established by the company and client.
