Security Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of security specialists and analysts to manage daily security operations across the organization, encompassing security monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence.

• Take ownership of defining the short and long-term security strategy for Wayflyer, including the necessary technology, personnel, and processes required to support it.

• Manage our security policy framework, standards, and controls, ensuring they are aligned with our actual operational practices.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on application, infrastructure, and cloud security, creating practical solutions that do not compromise user experience.

• Oversee third-party and vendor security risks, including conducting security assessments and due diligence for our partners and providers.

• Work alongside risk and compliance teams to ensure adequate controls are in place to mitigate identified security risks and fulfill our regulatory requirements as a financial services entity.

• Promote security awareness and foster good security practices throughout the entire company, from engineering to sales.

• Establish and implement methods to continuously measure and enhance the maturity of the security function.

• Report on security status, risks, and progress to relevant governance forums and senior leadership.


⛳️ Requirements

• A robust background in managing security teams within a technology-focused or highly agile corporate environment.

• Comprehensive knowledge across various security domains, including security operations, cloud and infrastructure security, application security, and governance, risk, and compliance.

• Proven experience in defining and overseeing incident response capabilities, security monitoring, and threat intelligence.

• Extensive technical expertise in securing cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS) and modern endpoints.

• Experience in developing security policies, standards, and controls that are effectively adhered to by personnel.

• Familiarity with working alongside risk and compliance functions in a regulated setting.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders at all levels.
