This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentorship, and performance management to lead and develop the Security Engineering team, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and security awareness.
• Create, implement, and uphold enterprise security strategies, policies, standards, and controls that align with business goals and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR.
• Oversee security operations, which include incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, root cause analysis, and the ongoing enhancement of the organization's security posture.
• Design, implement, and oversee security technologies, including SIEM, endpoint detection and response (EDR), firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), identity and access management (IAM), and cloud security controls in AWS and GCP environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Infrastructure, Product, Legal, HR, and IT teams to integrate security into system design, change management, application development, and enterprise risk management, while tracking security metrics, supporting audits, and promoting ongoing compliance initiatives.
• A minimum of 4 years of dedicated cybersecurity experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, including prior experience in people leadership or team management.
• In-depth expertise in enterprise security operations, vulnerability management, incident response, network and system architecture, endpoint protection, and identity and access management.
• Experience in securing cloud environments, specifically AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and working with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs).
• Proven experience in implementing security frameworks and regulatory standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and GDPR.
• Strong communication skills with the capability to present technical security risks and recommendations to both technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and take part in an on-call incident response rotation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
