Security Engineer – Node.js, Proactive Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop the runtime protection layer comprehensively from start to finish.

• Outline the product specifications — what we will intercept, what will be excluded, and the customer-facing interface.

• Decide on the technical strategy — including instrumentation methods, deployment structure, and programming language — all options are open.

• Execute the product implementation from beginning to end, utilizing the complete tooling stack available.

• Create your approach for validating your detection logic effectively.

• Leverage cross-layer signals from the existing stack to enhance threat intelligence and detection capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Knowledge of the Node.js runtime and the JavaScript ecosystem.

• Solid understanding of web application security principles and up-to-date knowledge of practical exploitation techniques.

• An understanding of how detection rules operate at scale — identifying attackers without flagging normal code activity.

• Capability to serve as the project manager, architect, lead engineer, and quality assurance for this product. You proactively seek resources or assistance when necessary without waiting for instructions.

• Proficiency in directing AI coding agents to produce high-quality results — this is a significant part of our engineering work currently.

• Previous experience with runtime protection products, application firewalls, or instrumentation tools.

• Background in malware analysis or incident response is preferred.

• Familiarity with managed hosting environments.

• Contributions to public security research, vulnerability disclosures, or detection rulesets you have authored.
