Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish robust collaborations with stakeholders across various business sectors to facilitate secure delivery of products and services.

• Act as a security subject matter expert across diverse security domains, offering insights on cybersecurity best practices.

• Assess current security tools and propose improvements, replacements, or consolidation opportunities.

• Implement, configure, maintain, and enhance security technologies to secure effectiveness and deliver business value.

• Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to embed security controls and solutions throughout the enterprise.

• Educate, advise, and influence stakeholders regarding cybersecurity risks, controls, and best practices.

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents.

• Maintain a thorough inventory of digital assets and assist in automating asset management processes.

• Work alongside the VP of Information Risk and Cyber Assessments to communicate risks and recommendations to leadership.

• Facilitate secure cloud adoption and the implementation of security controls across enterprise environments.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cybersecurity administration, engineering, or security operations.

• Preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

• Desired industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500), or AWS Certified Security – Specialty.

• Hands-on experience with the implementation, configuration, and support of enterprise security technologies, including EDR/XDR, DLP, identity and access management, vulnerability management, cloud security, and attack surface management solutions.

• Familiarity with security platforms like Microsoft Defender XDR, Google SecOps, ReliaQuest GreyMatter, Netskope, Box Shield, or equivalent technologies.

• Experience with PowerShell and automation of security operations within enterprise environments.

• Strong grasp of networking, operating systems, enterprise infrastructure, and cloud computing principles.

• Knowledge of cloud security services and governance tools in Microsoft Azure and AWS environments.

• Experience in vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security monitoring practices.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.

• Understanding of security considerations for emerging technologies like AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, capable of effectively engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Demonstrated ownership of work, willingness to embrace challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and patience in learning new processes.
