This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee daily security operations across PIP Labs and affiliated companies, including monitoring, alert triage, incident response, and remediation.
• Secure and manage the AWS environment, with some exposure to Google Cloud, while continuously enhancing the cloud security posture.
• Administer endpoint security and device controls utilizing tools such as CrowdStrike and Jamf.
• Automate repetitive security and IT workflows across various companies.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to identify risks, enhance configurations, and implement practical solutions, including contributing code or pull requests.
• Take charge of dependency hygiene and software supply chain security, which includes vetting, pinning, and monitoring third-party code.
• Support identity, access, device, and internal IT security requirements for a globally distributed workforce.
• Develop and maintain security procedures, playbooks, and documentation.
• Evaluate and enhance the ingestion, storage, access, and protection of sensitive datasets across the DATA Network ecosystem.
• Contribute to security preparedness in a high-threat environment, focusing on protection against targeted account compromise, credential theft, and sophisticated social engineering attempts.
• Ensure dependable security coverage across cloud environments, endpoints, and employee systems.
• Investigate and address high-priority risks and alerts.
• Decrease manual tasks through automation.
• Act as a hands-on security partner to infrastructure and engineering teams.
• Professional experience in cloud security, IT security, security engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong practical understanding of AWS security, including identity and access management, logging, monitoring, and secure configuration.
• Experience in operating endpoint detection and response and device-management tools.
• Familiarity with CrowdStrike and Jamf is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of automating operational workflows through scripting, APIs, infrastructure tools, agents, or security orchestration.
• Comfort with both security engineering and hands-on internal IT responsibilities.
• Proactive, low-ego mindset; capability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and see work through to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Sound judgment under pressure and a practical approach to balancing security, speed, and usability.
