Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Implement security best practices in our change and development initiatives

• Evaluate technical designs against established security specifications

• Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to create and execute remediation strategies

• Clearly articulate security risks when requirements cannot be fully satisfied

• Maintain systems and integrations that support these controls

• Ensure that implemented controls function as intended

• Coordinate security controls among other members of the Nucleus Group

• Assist with Audit and Due Diligence processes

• Partner with Security Operations and Analysis to establish and uphold standards

• Take ownership in all responsibilities to achieve positive outcomes for our clients

• Consistently exemplify the Nucleus Smart, Heart, and Courage values and behaviors

• Adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with recognized control frameworks, especially the CIS Critical Security Controls

• Ability to identify effective implementation and testing strategies

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong, verifiable experience in Information Security, ideally within a regulated sector such as financial services

• Comprehensive understanding of IT, Infrastructure, and Networking concepts

• Practical experience in building and maintaining the systems and integrations that facilitate security controls

• Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS

• Capability to consider diverse viewpoints and apply sound technical judgment

• Ability to express security risks in clear, practical language

• Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to follow tasks through to completion

• Skill in prioritizing and remaining agile with competing work demands
