Security Control Assessor, ISSE Support – Federal Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the evaluation of security control assessments throughout the system development lifecycle.

• Assess technical, operational, and managerial security controls to ensure compliance with established security standards.

• Aid in the preparation and review of security assessment documentation.

• Record assessment results and facilitate remediation tracking activities.

• Contribute to continuous monitoring initiatives by reviewing evidence and verifying the implementation of corrective actions.

• Work collaboratively with ISSOs, engineering teams, and Government stakeholders to address assessment findings.

• Support security reviews related to system authorization and ongoing compliance efforts.

• Maintain records of assessments, supporting documentation, and security artifacts.

• Participate in security meetings, technical reviews, and compliance discussions.

• Promote the continuous enhancement of cybersecurity assessment processes and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of relevant experience in supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, system security engineering, or security assessment tasks.

• Experience in conducting security assessments, compliance reviews, or security engineering within enterprise IT environments.

• Knowledge of Federal cybersecurity requirements and security control assessment procedures.

• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Preferred experience in supporting VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, and Federal program management.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; Level 3 Public Trust if assigned to GovCloud, GAL, or VA OIT.
