This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Address threats, alerts, and cybersecurity incidents, providing support from detection through to remediation.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and identify areas for improvement.
• Engage in the planning and execution of simulation exercises, including phishing tests.
• Participate in vulnerability management tasks from scanning to remediation.
• Evaluate threat intelligence sources and publicly disclosed vulnerabilities to determine their relevance, exploitability, and potential impact.
• Aid in cybersecurity audits and the associated remediation efforts.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to facilitate security risk assessments across systems and applications.
• Identify potential security vulnerabilities and propose remediation or mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the upkeep and enhancement of security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Contribute to the delivery and ongoing improvement of security awareness and training programs.
• Help validate and fine-tune security controls across identity, endpoint, and cloud environments.
• Support the deployment of security tools, controls, and operational initiatives.
• Effectively communicate with various IT technical and business teams.
• A diploma or degree in a relevant technical field from a recognized institution.
• 3-5+ years of experience in a medium to large organization with a strong emphasis on IT security and governance.
• Industry certifications such as Security+, SC-200, CISSP, CISM, and OSCP are viewed as advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of security frameworks, particularly NIST.
• Familiarity with cloud security and Microsoft O365.
• A solid understanding of cyber threats and demonstrated experience in Threat & Vulnerability Management.
• Hands-on experience with security and network tools to monitor activities and assist in threat detection.
• Experience in supporting security operations across various platforms (e.g., endpoint, network, cloud, identity).
• Capability to assist in incident response activities, investigate issues, and apply structured problem-solving techniques.
