Security Analyst I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Convert Cyber Security concepts into layman's terms to help clients grasp their specific applications in relation to business priorities.

• Oversee the monitoring of security events and the management of incident response ticket queues, triaging them appropriately to adhere to established service level agreements and objectives.

• Clearly articulate indicators of compromise, isolation measures, and remediation steps.

• Examine and interpret system, security, and application logs to identify faults, detect abnormal behaviors, and eliminate false positives.

• Effectively leverage VC3 and client toolsets, including but not limited to, Endpoint Detection and Response tools to investigate alerts and anomalies, and construct accurate timelines related to potential compromises.

• Adhere to established protocols to investigate, escalate, contain, or eliminate malicious activities.

• Create and present written and verbal reports to clients, teammates, and management to consolidate and communicate security metrics and information.

• Provide insights and suggestions for enhancing internal processes and procedures.

• Engage in threat hunting activities and other special projects as needed.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in Information Security or a related field.

• Preferred certifications include one of the following: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CCNA, C|EH, SSCP, or equivalent.

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms, firewall management, and endpoint detection and response tools.

• At least one year of experience with EDR solutions, ESGs, vulnerability management, and content filtering.
