Secondary Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Certified teachers will work full-time from home, overseeing instructional programs.

• Regular consultations with learning coaches and students are essential to ensure each child successfully completes their instructional program.

• The role includes supporting the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.

• Responsibilities involve timely completion of grading, creation of progress reports, and conducting parent conferences.

• Ongoing communication with parents, students, and colleagues is necessary to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules.

• Provide constructive feedback on student work, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignment completion, and guide special projects.

• Maintain a general understanding of the entire K-12 curriculum and an in-depth knowledge of the specific grades for which one is responsible.

• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and additional support for daily assignments and projects.

• Keep student records and data current, including online student and family information, attendance tracking, and logging all contacts with students and parents.

• Collaborate with team members and learning specialists to create alternative enrichment activities and modifications to enhance student understanding.

• Develop and implement virtual methods to foster and maintain a "school community."

• Participate in organizing and administering State Testing as directed.

• Engage in student recruiting sessions and other marketing initiatives that require teacher participation.

• Attend field trips and community activities designed for families.

• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be certified to teach Secondary Science in South Carolina, relevant to grade level responsibilities.

• Candidates must reside in South Carolina.

• A Gifted and Talented Endorsement is highly recommended.

• Strong technological proficiency is required, particularly with MS Office programs and Google Suite.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

• Candidates should be highly organized and punctual.

• A customer-focused approach is necessary.

• A high degree of flexibility is expected.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is required.

• A history of being a team player is essential.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for school and state testing events, which may include overnight stays.

• Ability to work remotely when necessary.

• Availability for occasional evening hours as needed to support families.

• Must be capable of using a personal electronic device and have an email address for two-step verification.
