Second Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Ongoing development and execution of a Preventative Maintenance Program

• Maintenance of records and workbooks for such programs, along with regular inventory checks of spare parts to ensure availability of necessary spares and consumables to reduce downtime

• Upkeep of firefighting equipment and safety gear

• Maintenance of engines, ensuring cleanliness and overall condition of the engine room, including the disposal of used oil tanks

• Testing of all safety devices installed on the vessel

• Maintenance of pumps, hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, lighting, and bridge apparatus

• Inspection of voids and steering mechanisms

• Care and maintenance of the scuba compressor and outboard motor(s)

• Bunkering of fuel and oil as necessary

• Review and act upon entries in the maintenance logbook

• Stand watch unless immediate mechanical or electrical issues arise

• Perform any other maintenance or repairs needed to ensure the ship's integrity

⛳️ Requirements

• Engineer Class 1 or 2 (STCW95)

• Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency with First Engineer endorsement

• ASSB certification

• Experience in crowd control and crisis management

• International AMSA Medical certificate

• First Aid or Medical Care on Ships & CPR certification

• Valid Passport and MSIC Card

• Preference for candidates with passenger ship experience
