This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Conduct thorough research, analysis, and assessment of current-year state tax forms, vendor specifications, letters of intent, and requirements.
• Identify, document, and provide guidance to the company regarding tax changes that impact compliance with state Departments of Revenue.
• Support tax software developers by conducting research and addressing tax-related inquiries.
• Analyze moderately complex tax scenarios and pinpoint essential tax points under current, proposed, or historical legislation.
• Suggest forms for addition to or removal from the current tax product suite.
• Collaborate, develop, or assist with tax issue research for corporate departments such as Government Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, Legal, Insurance, Software Development, Pricing & Analytics, and Field Training.
• Coordinate or engage in work teams that analyze and summarize enacted and proposed tax laws.
• Edit, review, and verify tax-related documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure completion of assigned projects by or before established deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax research, tax preparation, or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of tax law.
• Capacity to interpret, analyze, and devise solutions for highly complex tax situations.
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proven ability to work independently with focus and deliver highly detailed and accurate work.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficient in at least one online tax research tool.
• Familiarity with and prior experience using a Windows-based computer system.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
