This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and lead quality assurance for web platform features, including UI, APIs, and backend services.

• Design and implement manual test cases and exploratory testing for intricate web and API workflows.

• Execute comprehensive regression testing when bugs are fixed.

• Develop and sustain automated test suites for:

• Ensuring frontend-backend integration, data consistency, and error management.

• Conducting API contract testing, schema validation, and testing for negative/edge cases.

• Work closely with engineers during design, implementation, and code reviews to enhance testability and identify issues early.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for prompt and dependable feedback.

• Analyze test failures, probe into root causes, and facilitate issue resolution.

• Promote quality best practices, including shift-left testing, risk-based testing, and automation strategies.

• Identify, document, and monitor software defects using bug tracking tools like Jira.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Background in QA / Quality Engineering, with a strong emphasis on web platforms and APIs.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with manual testing of complex, consumer-oriented web applications.

• Extensive experience in building and maintaining API tests using tools such as Postman, REST-assured, Supertest, or similar.

• Practical experience with web automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress).

• Strong grasp of HTTP, REST, and API design principles.

• Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language (JavaScript, TypeScript).

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent debugging, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to form strategic partnerships with stakeholders and engage in high-trust, high-velocity cross-functional collaboration.

• Proven capability to leverage AI to enhance speed and quality in daily workflows for relevant outputs.

• Strong history of critically evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work (e.g., testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review).

• High integrity and accountability: you safeguard sensitive data, avoid excessive reliance on AI, and take responsibility for final decisions and deliverables.

• Nice-to-Haves: Experience in testing large-scale, high-traffic web platforms; familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks; experience with performance, load, or reliability testing for APIs and web applications; exposure to feature flags, experimentation platforms, or observability tools.
