SDET Engineer – Playwright, API Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance comprehensive UI automation from start to finish using Playwright and TypeScript.

• Create automation solutions that are maintainable, adhering to Page Object Model (POM) and reusable framework patterns.

• Ensure that the automation framework supports parallel execution, manages browser contexts, and executes reliably in CI environments.

• Maintain stable, scalable, and reusable automation for designated business processes.

• Develop and sustain API automation utilizing Python and pytest.

• Automate the validation of REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs.

• Create reusable fixtures, client abstractions, and parameterized testing suites.

• Manage Postman and Newman collections for API smoke testing and contract validation.

• Integrate automated test suites within Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

• Configure and oversee smoke, sanity, functional, and regression test executions.

• Monitor the quality of automation and continuously enhance execution reliability.

• Design and maintain WireMock stubs for simulating APIs and microservices.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost automation productivity.

• Engage in Agile practices including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Document automation solutions and maintain resources for knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Test Automation as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Automation Engineer.

• Proficient in developing end-to-end UI automation with Playwright and TypeScript.

• Extensive background in Python and pytest for API automation.

• Practical experience in testing REST APIs, including request validation, response verification, schema validation, and managing chained requests.

• Experience in testing GraphQL APIs, covering queries, mutations, variables, and schema validation.

• Familiarity with SOAP API testing.

• Proven experience in integrating automation with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

• Hands-on experience with WireMock or similar service virtualization tools.

• Strong understanding of Git workflows, pull requests, and best practices in version control.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar platforms.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
