This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Perform thorough tele psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic consultations for Kβ12 students referred to the service.
β’ Create and support treatment strategies that may incorporate pharmacological interventions when deemed appropriate.
β’ Manage medication, including prescribing, monitoring, and making adjustments in collaboration with caregivers and other clinicians.
β’ Provide second opinions or diagnostic clarifications for complex cases involving students.
β’ Collaborate with Virtual Peace of Mind therapists, school counselors, and family resource personnel to ensure integrated care.
β’ Engage in case consultations with multidisciplinary teams to ensure treatment alignment.
β’ Clearly and compassionately communicate findings and treatment recommendations to families and staff.
β’ Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation within the EHR (e.g., SimplePractice).
β’ Ensure that all psychiatric services adhere to HIPAA, FERPA, and state-specific medical regulations.
β’ Contribute to the formulation of psychiatric protocols, referral criteria, and medication guidelines.
β’ Keep up-to-date with best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry, school-based interventions, and telehealth standards.
β’ M.D. or D.O. with board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (mandatory).
β’ Possess an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia (multi-state licensure is a plus).
β’ DEA registration and authority to prescribe medications in Virginia.
β’ At least 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, or school-aged populations.
β’ Strong preference for experience in school-based care, community mental health, or telepsychiatry.
β’ Proven track record of working successfully as part of a multidisciplinary team (including therapists, school counselors, and educators).
β’ Capability to convey complex information clearly to both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
β’ Proficient in telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and HIPAA-compliant tools.
β’ Strong skills in clinical documentation, care coordination, and digital communication.
