This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Schedule, cancel, reschedule, and register outpatient visits and procedures across various ambulatory clinics.
• Check patients in and out in accordance with scheduling and registration protocols.
• Gather and verify patient guarantor details and generate referrals or authorizations as necessary.
• Schedule and register patients by following established scheduling guidelines and ensuring medical appropriateness.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and testing during the checkout process.
• Collect essential patient information for scheduling and registration purposes.
• Identify and communicate any scheduling adjustments and areas for development.
• Inform relevant personnel about scheduling changes resulting from cancellations.
• Address patient and staff inquiries and complaints, involving supervisors and patient representatives when needed.
• Consult with referring physicians’ offices to obtain and confirm complete written or electronic orders.
• Collect payments at the time of service, including copayments and managed-care waiver signatures.
• Reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each day and report any discrepancies.
• Complete Workques and daily tasks related to the scheduling area.
• Respond promptly to patient communications.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• State criminal background check and Federal criminal background check, if applicable, as mandated for regulated areas.
• Strong skills in written and verbal communication.
