Scheduler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary contact and subject matter expert for RunMyJobs (RMJ)

• Oversee and maintain job schedules, workflows, and dependencies across multiple systems

• Administer, patch, and configure the Redwood RunMyJobs platform

• Monitor job executions, alerts, and system performance to ensure reliability and adherence to SLAs

• Diagnose job failures, performance problems, and system errors

• Manage platform configurations, user roles, and security settings

• Perform regular system updates and apply security patches

• Design, develop, and enhance automated workflows and job chains, including batch schedules, execution timings, and job priorities

• Support RMJ integration with enterprise applications and data sources, including file transfers and API integrations

• Configure and manage platform agents and connectivity across different environments

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, the Informatica lead, Mulesoft engineers, data engineers, report developers, IT leadership, and other business and technical stakeholders

• Convert requirements into automation solutions and contribute to initiatives aimed at process improvement

• Provide assistance for the Railroad Commission of Texas on the RunMyJobs Scheduler project

⛳️ Requirements

• 6 years of experience in providing on-call support for critical batch failures and incidents

• 5 years of experience in creating, debugging, and executing scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Bourne, Python, or other scripting languages) for automating batch jobs and system monitoring

• 5 years of experience with job scheduling concepts, dependencies, and workflow orchestration and automation

• 5 years of direct, hands-on experience with RunMyJobs, including daily administration and troubleshooting

• 5 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)

• 3 years of experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems

• 3 years of experience with application upgrades, installations, and configuration management

• 3 years of experience in designing and maintaining batch job dependencies, triggers, calendars, and execution windows

• 3 years of experience in troubleshooting and resolving CI/CD and migration-related incidents

• 3 years of experience with integrations, including consuming APIs and executing file-based ETL or ELT processes

• 3 years of experience working with mainframe systems and JobTrac

• Preferred: 5 years of experience in data-centric projects, such as transitioning from legacy to newer systems

• Preferred: 3 years of familiarity with mainframe systems (IMS, COBOL files, JCL, batch processes)

• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work as necessary
