SCADA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain Longroad's enterprise SCADA platform (LongView) for a portfolio of over 50 solar, energy storage, and wind projects.

• Engage in LongView application development and provide fleet SCADA support and integration.

• Design and create Ignition-based views, dashboards, KPIs, and workflows for the Remote Operations Center (ROC).

• Perform field verification, testing, and validation activities.

• Develop and sustain Ignition-based views, dashboards, and KPIs.

• Create custom alarm strategies, priority pipelines, and workflows for downtime management.

• Integrate SCADA systems with enterprise applications to streamline ROC and site workflows.

• Assist with metadata, UDT, and templatization processes.

• Offer SCADA support to EPC vendors, O&M technicians, regulatory agencies, utility offtakers, and internal teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in SCADA & Automation, emphasizing SCADA integration.

• 4+ years of experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA.

• Proficient in Python for Ignition scripting and automation.

• Familiarity with Ignition Historians, SQL, and database technologies.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP layer 1 and layer 2 concepts.

• Understanding of industrial protocols, particularly Modbus (RTU & TCP), OPC UA, and MQTT.

• Experience in utility-scale solar, energy storage, or wind projects.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 30%.
